Young Heroes

It's hard to face the challenges that we face every day. But when a tornado screams through your camp, I can see myself
huddled behind a tree shaking in my boots.

The boys in the Iowa boy scout camp, stepped up and used every thing they
had learned to not only save themselves but their friends and camp leaders.

Smart and courageous, these boys should be commended for the challenges they faced.

New Perspective

Last week, I took a vacation from writing. My family and I traveled up to North and South Dakota. We had a wonderful time visiting historical places and seeing amazing landscape.

Even after we came home I refused to do any work. I wanted to give myself a break, but I found I wanted to write, wanted to get back to work. Still I stuck to my guns and didn't write a word. (Other than a to do list.)

Now, this week I'm back at it with renewed energy and excitement.

Here's to taking a break, and don't forget to check out the pictures from my trip.

New Frontier

Over the last few days, I traveled with my family to North and South Dakota. My husband has now visited all fifty states.

We went to Ft. Abraham Lincoln which is where Lewis and Clark camped and where Custer served before going to Little Big Horn. An interesting
place to visit, we saw Custer's home and got a great view of the Missouri River.

Then we headed to Mount Rushmore and saw the four presidents. An awesome sight, I recommend seeing this place. Not only for the important
historical information, but for the sheer awesomeness of the sculpture.

Check out some of my pictures on the picture page of my website.

Memorial Day

Time to remember the wonderful men and women in the military.

I am lucky in that I have a number of family members who served in the arm forces during the WWII. Luckily, they all made it home. One uncle landed on the beach of Normandy. Another served in Japan during the reconstruction. Another one helped load the atom bomb which blew up Hiroshima.

But there were also a number of them who never made it out of the states, but they did their part to serve our country.

As you can see, I have some awesome relatives.

Have a great day,

Tina
