Can You Dream It?

With the Olympics going on, it makes one wonder what it takes to realize your dreams?

So what is it that you want?

Can you picture it?

Dream about what its like to have it?

I've wanted to be an author for a long time. As a kid, I made up stories and told them to my nephews. I read hundreds of romance novels. I didn't believe I could do it so I put the dream on a shelve and set it aside until years later.

Then I decide for what ever reason that I need to persue my dream. I took classes to learn what I needed to know. I joined groups with other writers to learn about the business. I sat at my computer and plugged away at the keyboard.

Finally, I sold my first book and was on my way.

Over the years, I've learned that I still have to feed that dream.

I'm constantly, redefining what I want from my career. Yes, I still enjoy writing, but I also want more. I want more people to read my books, love the story and enjoy the ride.

I draw pictures in my head of the success I want to achieve.

My dream is not a destination of one point in time but a story in my head that changes with my goals and successes.

I know it won't happen overnight, but if you believe in your heart that it will happen. Then it will.

Here's to dreaming and all that can be achieved.

My Review for Fallen Evermore

Set along the California coast, FALLEN EVERMORE pairs sensuous interracial romance with chilling paranormal suspense.   Author Kathleen Rowland has penned an engrossing thriller that will keep you guessing through the end. A string of homeless men are buried up to the neck in sand.  Residents pay close attention when the latest victim is a high school dropout. Like others trapped below the high tide mark, the teenager should have drowned, but he is alive when found weeks later.  A strange bacterial infection found in each of the victims baffles doctors and angers the group of immortals that live quietly among the small town’s citizens.  Secret immortal Mayor Cord Smith knows the reason for the victim’s survival is their immortality as they drown repeatedly without the release of death.

Filipina attorney Sophia Marie Mercola’s successful acquittal of a known thief has the town outraged.  Her client’s release coincides with the latest attack, and the good citizens are now convinced she knows the cruel brute leaving his dirty work along the beach.  The anger directed at Sophia brings her to the attention of Cord Smith, the handsome young mayor and father of Sophia’s student at a volunteer tutoring center.  Cord protects Sophia, but his desire is shadowed by his immortality. In a small town, everyone and everything seem intertwined.  When the ‘coincidences’ start adding up, Sophia digs further into her clients’ backgrounds, and finds a connection with Cord’s first wife, his daughter’s mother.  No one suspects the sadist who is a victim himself as he and his atrocious friend target Cord's daughter Kerrigan.  Will Sophia get there in time?

Some things to think about when

you're writing that next best seller.

  1. Feel it – if you can’t feel aroused or excited by your writing. How can your reader?
  2. Rewrite – cut unneeded prepositional phrase. “He caressed her shoulder with his hands.” (Is this really needed?)
  3. Senses – use taste and smell to add depth to your writing. “The smell of rose reminded him of ….”
  4. Quirks – have at least one character with an interesting quirk. “He popped a life-saver into his mouth. The sweet taste of cherry filled her taste buds when their mouths met.” Sprinkle these throughout the book to define your character.
  5. Setting – add it a little at a time like you would introduce a new character with faults and quirks.
Just a few things to remember,

Tina

Golf Course Waterfalls

One of the wonderful thing about playing golf is the views of flowers and plants.

The man made waterfalls are kind of nice too. I've post some pictures on my website of a few. Take a look. http://www.tinagayle.net/picture.html

Help an Author

Most people don't understand why some books are more popular on Amazon than other. Well, the computers decide by a number of different things - such as "Likes"

If a person "Likes" a book on amazon it is elevated in the que of books people will want to buy.

So  help a book rise to the top of its catagory by using the "Like" button to express your opinion. Also, you don't have to buy the book from amazon to "Like" a book.

We all need each other to make the world go around.

Could The Killing Spree in Colarodo be...

First, let me say I'm not trying to defend the man who did this. The pain this man has caused is unthinkable. My heart goes out to the victims, their family and friends, the other people in theatre, and everyone involved. It is a terrible tragedy.

For that reason, I like thousands of other people am trying to make sense out of something that makes no sense.

So I turn to logic and recall past crimes of this type.

In other killing sprees of this nature, the killer usually turns the gun on himself or gets in a fight with the police and dies. That is not the case in this situation. Why?

The murderer turned himself in.

Okay, what possible motivation could he have for doing this? Did he want to go to jail? Or did he have some other objective?

So I turned to his background. He's a graduate student, who has just ended his college career, and according to reports by the press, he has studied human behavior. Then why would he do this appalling thing to other young people?

I need a logical reason so...

Could it be an elaborate doctoral experiment?

No, the man is just crazy or just insane.

Or is he?

Please tell me I'm wrong because I don't want to think a twisted mind will this as an excuse for murdering innocent people.

RT - Irish Cream and a little Golf

With the British Open going on this weekend. Why not start your day off by watching a little golf and sharing Irish Cream in your coffee?

Relaxing and a great way to kick off a wonderful day together.

Here's the recipe I use if I don't just buy the bottle.

1 cup heavy cream
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 2/3 cups Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon instant coffee granules
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract

DIRECTIONS
In a blender, combine heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, Irish whiskey, instant coffee, chocolate syrup, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Blend on high for 20 to 30 seconds. Store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. Shake well before serving.

Pictures to Share

Hi everyone,

Mike and I went with some friends this weekend golfing. The course was beautiful but the terrain was a little hilly.

There is also some wild life in several of the pictures but you have a hard time seeing the roadrunner and bunny very clearly.

I know it can brighten my day and hopefully it can add happiness to yours too.

Romantic tip - pick a few and take them home to your honey.

Working on a Different Genre

I'm working right now on writing a young adult book.

Why?

Because it's different and I like to try my hand at different things.

The story is about a young orphan girl, who discovers that she has more magically power than she wants.

Why? Because people are after her, they want to draw her into their world and have her help them.

Okay so it's all about me.

She on the run, but luckily has a few friends helping her.

But where does the road end?

I don't know I'm still writing.

Hope you enjoyed the sneek peep into "Ace is Wild." under my new pen name C.B.McKee.

Have a good one,

Tina

Diet Dilemmas

The experts say if you eat less calories than you exert you’ll lose weight.

Then why is it on the days I work out the most I don’t lose more.

Water retention?

Muscle fatigue?

Or do the experts clueless?

What’s the answer?

RT - Lovesongs

You may not have a song that you consider "your song" as a couple, but there is nothing to say you can't find one now.

Listen to some music and find one you like then play it over and over again until it becomes the inspiration for your love.

We change and so does our music so listen to some good old rock and roll and find a winner.
