Do #Authors Need a Newsletter? #bookpromotion #ASMSG

One of the goals of an author is to have a fan base. These are the people who buy your books and love to read you.

But how do they know you have a new book out?

Check online?
Hear about it from a friend?

Or do you send them a newsletter?

A newsletter is a great promotional tool for an author. Some send out a newsletter every month, others when they have a new release or quarterly. It depends on what you have time to do or what you want to do.

It can be easily setup through a yahoo group, mail chimp, or some other email software. ( Depending on the number of people on the list there can be a charge.)

Readers can sign up and leave when they want.

It is helpful to offer an incentive to join your list. I give away a short story that can only be acquired by signing up for my newsletter.

Also, to promote your newsletter put an add in you ebooks with a link. This will bring more people to your site.

I also have it displayed on my website so it is the first thing people see when visiting my site.

Check it out at

Of course, there are many ways to do things. If you know of a better way, please let me know. I love learning new strategies for gaining followers.

Have a great one,

I don't think I'd get charged for having too many people on my list.

On Mailchimp and other sites, a newsletter is free up to a certain number of subscribers. After that, a fee kicks in. Mailchimp max is 2000.
