Sign up for Author Exchange

Hi everyone,
Right now, I'm trying to decide which graphic I want to use for

The Ghost Book Hug Exchange

1.
2.

Normally, I do a fall exchange and it runs over into the Holidays. This year, I'd like to have this Ghost #BookHugs from Sept. 10 to Nov. 1
I'll have a separate sign up for the holidays  starting around Nov. 10 lasting until the Jan. 2

To make this work, you will need to have #BookHugs in your title.
(This makes it easier for people to find it and retweet.)

Here's how it works:

  1. You sign up and agree to host others on your blog by leaving your email address in the comment section. Put your Name, Email address, genre, and who you are looking for as guests.
  2. Then email others on the list and let them know that you are interested in doing an exchange
  3. Give dates you have available to host them.
  4. Please put Author Exchange in the subject line so they won't think you are spam.
  5. Decide on dates and exchange posts.
  6. Post should included the following information:
  7. Title should include #BookHugs. (There is no space between any of this hashtag. This is to make it easier to retweet)

Also include the graphic above.

- send over your cover
- blurb - less than 300 words
- excerpt - less than 500 words
- Purchase links not more than 5
- author short bio - 100 words or less.
- author links - no more than 5
**** give a short message of love, friendship, inspiration.

Now you might be asking why should I or anyone do this.

Because it gains exposure to your books.
- I personally have over 50 K followers on Twitter
- I'm on Triber and my post are retweeted by others which claims over a million more people are reached (but I have no way to confirm this number)
- my blog is shared on my social networks- FB, Google +, Twitter, and LinkedIn
If you use #BookHugs in the title of your post, it can be easily retweeted by other people involved in the author exchange.

Add in other authors that also have twitter, goodread and facebook accounts and you increase the exposure for your book.

The Exchange runs from  (Sept. 10 to Nov. 1 ) Check back daily for others who have signed up for the exchange.  ****No one will be allowed to join after  Oct. 13.

If have any question or problems email me. tina9561@yahoo.com subject  #BookHugs

Thanks for letting me share your book with the world,

Tina

I'm in! My real name is Linda McLaughlin, but I also write steamy romance as Lyndi Lamont. I'm hoping to have a new paranormal novella up on pre-order in time for the exchange. My email is lyndimac@hotmail.com. I'll host any genre, but the excerpts need to be PG as I have no adult filter on my blog. I have lots of dates open, except for regular features on Tuesdays and Fridays, plus a couple of other dates already scheduled. I look forward to hearing from everyone.

Count me in. I can post any Wednesday. My email is Kryssie. Fortune@yahoo.co.uk
No age limit on the blog.

Wonderful idea, Tina! Thank you so much for doing the heavy lifting. I'm Kathleen Rowland and write steamy romantic suspense but would love to spotlight any genres of romance including erotic romance as long as the excerpts are for a general audience since I don't have an adult filter.
I can spotlight books on any day. Give me a title so that I know what hashtags you want to use besides #Bookhugs -- I look forward to hearing from all of you. Don't forget your short message of inspiration (another super idea from Tina!)

Correct email address - daryl.devore@yahoo.ca

Hot romance- Between Despair and Ecstasy

I take all genres at my blog - Romance - Sweet to Heat
I generally post Thurs, Fri and Sat.

This sounds like a great idea. I would love to be part of this. I can post every Wednesday, except 15th November. That's my next release day.
I'll take every genre, but would appreciate promo material to be PG13.

I'm in :) I write paranormal romance. Blog is wide open so can schedule easily. All genres welcome. Excerpt up to pg-13 I don't think I have an adult filter on the website. My email is leesielis@gmail.com

I'd love to exchange. I write paranormal romance. I can host most genre's, as long as it's a clean (no graphic sex) post. Implied, sensual posts are fine. Most Mondays of the next two months are taken on the blog but I'm otherwise open. Danita4yu@yahoo.com

Count me in! I've got a new book out (available for pre-order on Kindle now) so would be happy to take part.

PG-13 excerpts work for me, too, and my shared post will also be that rating.

Hello! I'm interested in participating. I'm a romance author, with 16 titles ranging across several romance sub-genres and most of them steamy. My website has no filter for adult content, so excerpts must be suitable for a general audience (or polite conversation). I have just about any date open, although I typically post weekly to my blog on either Monday or Tuesday.

This would be my first foray into an endeavor of this kind, so I'd need someone to provide very detailed, step-by-step instructions on exactly how to do this. Technologically savvy I am not.

Anita Philmar said...

Hen House Publishing - 1st you need to post your email address.

Then you can either contact others on the list or they may contact you.
You will exchange the information that is listed above.
You and the author you contacted will decide on the date you to host them and for them to host you.(these can be same or different dates)

On your blog you use the exchange graphic along with the author information that they have sent you and post it on the date you agreed upon. You need to make sure to put #BookHugs in the title. This way the post can be found on social sites like twitter and shared/retweeted.

That's about it. If you want to participate just post your email address.

I'd love to exchange post with anyone. anitaphilmar@yahoo.com
I want to promote Banished Hero a syfy shapeshifter story. It is hot but can make excerpt pg.

Look forward to hosting all of you.

I apparently posted a reply to a specific subscriber rather than posting a general comment, which further illustrates my ignorance or simple incompetence. Ugh. That said, thanks to two people who did reply. They noted that I need to post my email address and other information:

Email: henhousepublishing@gmail.com

Genre(s): Romance, paranormal romance; fantasy

Ideal Guests: Anyone, I'm not picky

Available Dates: Any week, except for Mondays and Tuesdays

Posts should include the following information: I understand we're trying to plug each others' books, but I'd prefer your post not focus on book promotion, but on another topic related to writing, editing, or the publishing industry.

Let's hope I've done this correctly now.
