Twas the Day before Christmas

And nothing is done.

I have to do the laundry or I'll have nothing to wear.

My husband is at work,

and my kids are playing video games.

I'm thinking about all the wonderful things in my life.

I have an awesome husband, great kids and

friends and family who love and care about me.

I have a new contract on a book
and my career is looking bright.

No matter what I get for Christmas.

I have a great life.

Hope you have a wonderful Holiday season.

Love to you and yours,

Tina

Making New Friends

One of the things that we all have to learn to do is to make new friends.

With our move to Nebraska, I am finding the skill I had used so well in my comfort zone, is rusty. Meeting new people is something I have
always enjoyed, but forming friendship takes time and energy.

And where are these new friends hiding? Are they my new neighbors, the members of my yahoo groups, or are they hiding out at the gym?

For one thing, a normally vivious person, I'm finding I'm shy. Okay, shy for me.

But I haven't given up. I'm still continuing my search. Luckily my old friends are keeping me in the loop so I'm still connected to the world at large.

Also, with selling my second book to Amira Press, I am meeting new people on the Amira Press yahoo group.
It was a great Christmas present to get my contract for "Baby Decision."

Hope you are enjoying the Holiday season. Have a great week.

Love to you and yours,

What do they say about Assumptions?

Haven't all of us been told at one time or another to not assume any thing. Yet, again and again we do it.

Like assuming five cloudy days with snow on the ground wouldn't really bother us. After all, if you don't have to get out in it, why should you care.
Sounded good, in reality, I'm not doing so good with the white stuff. But lucky, we have sun today which has brighten my mood.

Or assuming that because you wrote a book, some one out there is going to want to publish it. This I think is the biggest for new writers. We are so proud of our accomplishment that we don't understand the real difference between writing a good book and writing a book that will sell (those two things aren't necessarily the same thing.)

But don't give up, the great thing about assumptions is they can also be wrong. Like not thinking a book would sell because it had been turned
down by one publishing house. Then, you get an email that another publisher wants to buy it. I'm thrilled to say "Baby Decision" my second book after
"Pregnancy Plan" has sold to Amira Press.

Merry Christmas. I wish all of you a great week.

All the best to you and yours,

Tina

Weekend Trend.

Hi, everyone.

For the last two weekends, the weather has decided to act up. Saturday, we got ice and snow. Not the best weather to be driving in, so we stayed in for the most part.

I'm missing California at the moment, the sunny, warm days. Now, I hear this coming weekend we are suppose to get rain and snow again. Welcome to Nebraska.

But wait, we have a new coach for our Huskers, so things will be getting brighter.

Also, the good thing about the weather being bad is I get more things done around the house, like all those boring chores that we all have to do. The college football games help to divert my attention when the iron called, so I was saved from that task.

Have a Christmas Party this weekend so rain or snow I will be getting out.

Hope you have a wonderful week.

Now I have to get to work.

After enjoying a nice meal on Thanksgiving, my husband and I tackled the disaster area which is suppose to be my new office. With Mike's help,I managed to get my book shelf up and my books out of the boxes.

Now, I have a place where I can write without interruption. For the last several days I have been just walking by and smiling, but today I get to put it to the test. Who knows with all that space I might not be able to get anything done.

Hope you have a wonderful week.
