Back from Cruising

Hi everyone,

I had a wonderful time on my cruise with the Florida RWA group. Not only did I get to meet agents and editors, but I enjoyed seeing and getting to know some awesome writers.

On the first day I arrived, I met co-owner of The Wild Rose Press, Rhonda Penders. This woman is amazing. Not only does she run TWRP but she holds down a full time job, has a family of three boys, and helps with her aging parents. What she can accomplish in a day would take me a week. And the best part, she is an upbeat person who supports authors. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her better.

The relaxed format of the conference made it easy to get to know people. I spent time with editors, agents, and writers, and learned different aspects of the business in a comfortable relaxed setting. I truly enjoyed this conference.

If you get a chance in the future to do this conference, you should take advantage of the opportunity. The Florida Writers Group did an awesome job.

What a Retreat!

The Heartland Writer's Retreat was wonderful. Not only did I get a chance to meet and talk to some wonderful ladies, but we were discussing one of my favorite subjects, writing.

What more could you ask for?

Books?

We got them.

Get ideas?

They had them.

Help?

Yes, smart intelligent idea to keep me going.

Wish everyone could have a local RWA chapter like mine.

Planning the New Year

Time to start on those goals.

Lose weight, start my next book and learn to live in the moment.

Every year I plan out my calendar with everything I want to achieve in my writing career. The days I'm going to write, time spent promoting, and even when I plan to do my edits.

Sound like a planner?

Yes, I know, but for some reason my personal goal like living in the moment gets lost.

To broad?

Maybe, or I might get so busy in achieve my other goals I forget about the simple things like talking to my son while he eats his breakfast.

Yeah, now there's a goal.

Remember to take time for the things that are important to you outside of work.

Have an awesome new year,

Tina

Chosing a Hat

I'm headed for the Heartland Writer's Retreat at the end of this week, and I'm trying to decide which hat I should wear.

With a number to chose from, I always struggle with which one I like the best. Each offers a different peek into my personallity but I also like it to reflect the mood. No matter which one I chose I do love my hats.

Have a great week.

Playoffs

Hope everyone is enjoying the NFL playoffs.

I'm trying to get my fill before the season ends so I'm not going to write much today.

Have a great week,
