Tina's Titillating Teaser - Dragon & Destiny

Blurb:

The awakening of his dragon soul twin, Llewlyn, brought Dragshi Lord Branin near-eternal life, but not happiness. As a dragshi, he can take on dragon form and know the freedom of flight, however, both are the last of their kind and have waited millennia for their mates. The firebrand raider, Lady Broch is more than willing to fulfill that position -- with or without Branin's willing cooperation.

When a faint thought impinged on Branin's mind, hope for an ending to eons of loneliness soared. Plagued by doubts because no signs of a dragon shifter's birth have been seen, Branin searches the world for the mysterious girl he only knows by the name, Anastasia.

All that stands between happiness and a lifetime alone is destiny—and Broch.

Excerpt:

“Master Vivel said you asked him to find me. And just before the gryphlor attacked, you said you searched for me. Sire, I don’t mean to be impertinent, but why would a dragshi lord be interested in a trader girl?”

Although he knew her question was inevitable, Branin dreaded how she would respond. He gave her the answer he had prepared. “Your mental contact was unusually strong for a true human. It is a talent to be protected and treasured.” Branin watched the expression on Anastasia’s face while she digested his words. When he felt she had enough time, he changed the topic. “Now tell me more about life in a trader caravan.”

Her detailed description of the towns she had passed through, and the everyday events in Alcari helped pass the minutes until the full moon lit the wooded path, enabling them to continue their journey back to the camp. The hampering growth and the exhaustion creeping into his legs reduced Branin’s enjoyment of the walk. He could only guess how much the tree roots that kept catching Anastasia’s feet and slowing her pace, tired her. Finally, she stumbled and fell. Catching her before she landed in the thorny underbrush beside the path, he swung her up in his arms.

“You’ve had a long day. Rest a bit. When my arms get tired, you can walk some more.”

Her soft reply of, “Thank you, sire. I just need a moment,” failed to change his mind to carry her to the ends of the earth.

Her closeness just accentuated the growing mental bond between them. He caught her blush when she looked up at the reddish hue of the beard stubble that now covered his features. More disconcerting was her hastily suppressed thought that she would enjoy Branin carrying her forever.
