Writing, Family, Housework, oh, My! #MFRWauthor #Writing #TinaGayle

Writing takes quiet time. In house with two boys, this at time takes a place where you can shut the door and lock out the noise.

Luckily, I started writing after my boys started school so I wrote while they were in school. Once they got out then I tried to do other things.

Now, my boys are grown so the house is quiet, except for the dog.  She just likes to be let in or let out.

I believe my writing has survived my kids, but the housework is another story.
Where once I had help with the chores, now more things slid than I'd prefer. Still, life is about choices and not one is going to remember the way my house looks. Hopefully, they will enjoy my books long after I'm gone.

So if you are trying to write, remember to pick the time that is best for you and keep it going.

Good advice, Tina. Housework will always be there, but inspiration can't wait.

If you all lived closer, we could start a writers' collective: a little cooperative housecleaning while we brainstorm plot problems!

Great idea, Alina. Problem is I'd have to clean house before the group met. Love brainstorming. Have a wonderful weekend, Tina

So true about picking your time to be able to write and sticking with that. Yes, it's too easy to become distracted by other things during that writing time, and making yourself stay focused is the way to accomplish many great stories! Keep 'em coming, Tina!

Amazing how adapable writers learn to become! Write on!

I have sons too but I suspect mine are older than yours. Mine are at the age when they can be really helpful in running the house while I write full time. Aside from a few chores, they each cook one family dinner a week. Gives me a night off and they learn how to take care of themselves for when they do move out of home. I loiter a bit to answer questions and make sure the youngest is ok but its their choice of meal etc. That's good for them I think.

Writing good. Housework bad. I'll take writing over cleaning, washing clothes, and washing dishes anytime. Cooking? It's a toss-up. I do like to eat.

Ah, cleaning is overrated. What's the bigger regret, not passing a white glove test or not getting that story out of your head?

Fun Post! My house has suffered too!
