A #LowCarb #Recipe for the #Holidays - A Lemon Treat

Okay, you enjoy cooking. But do you follow the recipe exactly?

Strangely enough, I struggle with this. I believe I was thrown off course years ago while watching this beautiful lady.

Yes, she did it in her movie Sabrina where she looked into the refrigerator and came up with a meal.

So when I start to make a recipe, I look in the refrigerator to see if I have what I need and usually find that I don't.  Soooo, I do what Sabrina did and replace one item for another.

If you remember, I'm on a low carb diet and in need of a treat.

I found this recipe that was called Low Carb Lemon Cheesecake bars

Now the recipe called for

1   3oz box of sugar free lemon jello - ( I had this)
1   cup of boiling water  - (again a check mark was in my kitchen)
2   Tablespoons of Lemon Juice ( yes - we are good to go.)
2   8oz packages of low fat cream cheese  (Houston, we have it a problem.)

I didn't have low fat cream cheese and only had 1 package. Now, what's a cook to do and knowing my husband isn't the biggest fan of cream cheese.....well, I did what I always do and changed the recipe.

Okay, so I had one package of full fat cream cheese and wait for it.....sour cream.

So I mixed it up with using the directions and add a cup of sour cream instead of 1 of the packages of cream cheese.

They came out awesome.

So if you don't have 2 packages of cream cheese you might want to try 1 cup of sour cream in this recipe. (Good for those people who aren't fan of cream cheese.)

Thanks for tune into Tina's Tidings,

Tina

Back from Conference - #TinaTidings But ... @IngramSpark and @SparkJustine

Hi everyone,

I had hope to get so much done once I got home from Emerald City Conference.

I meet some wonderful people and was inspired to get to work on a number of new projects.

One was Ingram Spark.

Justine was one of the speakers at the conference and offer some insight into how to get your books in more Marketing channels across the world.

I had hope to start uploading my books to Ingram Spark, but hit a snag when I manage to catch the flu.  Has put me way behind in my goals for this month.

Hope you will take the time to check them out at www.ingramspark.com

If you have questions about the program, leave a comment and I'll contact Justine to see if she can answer any of your questions.

Have a great week,

Tina

For the last couple of weeks, I've been talking about Emerald City Writer's Conference.

Today, it starts and I'm head out to Seattle.

Seeing as I'll be on the plane for a while, I decided to pair this blouse with a pair of jeans.
When I get to the conference, I'll add the hat and change out of my tennis shoes.

Looking forward to sharing pictures of the event which I'll add here or share on FB or Twitter
when I take them.

Here's to everyone having a great time,

Fashion for the @ECWC_Seattle_WA Event for #Authors #TinaTidings

If you haven't been following along on my fashion adventure, make sure to scroll down and see the other outfits I'm looking at wear at the ECWC conference in Seattle.

The quest with these post, is to find an outfit that not only I like but others think I look good in. So feel free to leave a comment.

Today, I'm working with my cream colored hat so all the clothes will hopefully accent the hat.

If you saw yesterday post you will notice that I also tried this outfit with my black hat. Today, I'm pairing the shirt with cream color pants and hat.

Now, I'm switching color scheme and going with blue pants, a purple shell with a multicolor jacket.

Also, I wanted to try outfit that included a dress.

Which ones do you like?

Leave a comment and let me know,

Thanks everyone and hope to see you in Seattle,

Tina

A #Romance #Author Making Fashion Choices #TinaTidings

Each time an author heads off to conference one of the things she needs to decide is what to wear.

My first choice to make was what hats to wear.  I've been sharing pictures of them over the last week or two.

Now, I need to put the outfits together.

Yesterday, I matched my clothes with my red hat. Now, we are moving on to my black hat.

This sparkle top is paired with cream colored pants and my black hat. Or do you like it better with black pants.

Now for our next selection, we have a black hat with turquoise sweat and black pants

Last but not least we have black hat, black pants and animal print shirt.

Aren't we having fun? Remember, I'd love to hear which one you like best.

Leave a comment here or on my FB page.

Thanks,

Tina

Conference, Clothes and Speech - #TinaTidings #ECWC2017 #RWA

Hi everyone,

As I said last week, I'm gearing up for the Emerald City Writers conference in October.
http://gsrwa.org/ecwc/conference/

So I've been  thinking about what to wear and the speech I plan to give with Dee Owens.

Real Marketing for Organic Growth doesn't only apply to authors. It also includes anyone who does business. As the old saying goes if no one knows you have built a better mouse trap who is going to buy it.

That's why I'm excited to expand authors knowledge on what can help them discover new readers and help with any other business adventure they might be engaged.

One of the things, I've been having the most fun with is what to wear. As you can see, I have another hat that I've debating as to how to wear it and what outfit would look best with it.

I'm also playing with different hair styles.

I've found three that are super easy to do.

Check them out on my pinterest page.

I plan to work on what I will be wearing with each this weekend so I should have lots of pictures to share here and on my facebook page in the next few weeks.  Love to for you to comment on which ones you like best.

Have an awesome weekend and all the best to you and yours,

Tina

Attending Emerald City #RWA Conference - #TinaTidings @ECWC_Seattle_WA #ASMSG

Hi everyone,

I have a number of Canadian pictures that I wanted to share but they are from the Jasper National Park Golf course so I decided to create a post for them on my wordpress blog.
So if you want to jump over there and see them here is the link.

I'm so excited about attending Emerald City #RWA Conference
on the second weekend of October.

So of course, I had to have a new hat.

But when I was shopping, I couldn't decide which one I liked best so I had to get more than one.

Now, I'm working on what to wear and the final notes for my speech.

I'm going hold a class on

Real Marketing for Organic Growth.

with PMInc.

Hope to see you there,

This Weeks 9/15/17 #TinaTidings and #Travel #Pictures

So if you follow me on facebook, you might have noticed that I changed out my profile picture and the banner picture. I had to cut down the picture so you could see me.

I know it looks as if I am standing in front of a picture, but believe me Lake Louise is just as beautiful as the picture shows. Mike and I had such a wonderful time here. The water is an incredible blue. The day was a little chilly at least for me, but of course, Mike had on shorts.  We walked down to where the water from the glacier trickled into the lake.

The fires in western Canada didn't distract from the view like they had earlier in our trip.
This is a view from our hotel window. It was hard going to sleep with such beautiful scenery outside.

News

Not much to share this week, other than I know a few people who are suffering from the lose of love ones and friends. It can be such a heartache. With all the things going on in the country, I hope you, my friends and readers have recovered from the hurricanes that have hit both Texas, my home state, and Florida. I'm very lucky that in neither places, my friends and family have come through without any harm.

Please be safe in your travels and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Love comments so please let me know what exciting is going on in your life.

All the best to you and yours,

Tina

Do You Drink Enough? #TinaTidings #Health and #Travel

Welcome to This Week's #TinaTidings

Once a week, I tried to catch everyone up on what's going on in my world.
Sometimes I do better than others.

So this week, I celebrated my birthday.  Thanks to everyone for their happy birthday wishes.

I had an awesome day.... one more day down and a lifetime to go.

Then while giving my wonderful husband a hug, I fainted to my knees...now even though, he is incredible guy this doesn't normally happen. So we googled why this might have occurred.

It seems I was dehydrated.

So I'm lifting a glass of water regularly these days, here's to another 5 glass to go for today.

Even though, I'm joking about this. It is important to get enough water to stay hydrated. I was feeling sluggish and tired. I thought it was because I was recovering from our trip. I added water to daily routine and I'm feeling much better now. Glad, we figured it out.

Next, I had a great time signing up for my NFL fantasy team. The draft was quick and easy. I'm very lucky that my son's runs the league and the other guys don't mind me being in the league.

Hopefully, I'll be about to make it to the finals this year.

To continue with some of my pictures from Canada, here is one from the national park near Jasper. As you can see the smoke from the fires on the western side of
Canada was seen miles from their sources.

Still, it is a beautiful place that we really enjoyed seeing.

Until next week be safe and best to you and yours,

Tina

PS. love comments so don't be shy about telling me about your weekly adventures.

Take Me Away To Canada #TinaTidings #Travel #ASMSG @rmountaineer

As I told you last week, my husband and I decided to return to Canada for our anniversary. So this time instead of going skiing, we decide to see more of this beautiful country. Unfortunately, there were a number of fires in western Canada which hit the awesome view.

Still, it is a wonderful place with amazing people. We took the trip with the Rocky Mountaineer Train from Vancouver to Kamloop and onto Jasper, then we traveled by bus to Lake Louise, Banff, and ended in Calgary. It was a fabulous trip where we saw amazing sights and met some awesome people from all over the world.

We had amazing views.

The day from Vancouver to Kamloop, we spent the entire day relaxing on the train as the world passed outside out window. Then when we arrived in Kamloop, which is a small town known for hosting all sorts of sports completions, we had our bags waiting for us in our hotel rooms. It is nice not having to deal with luggage.

So have you taken a train ride some where exciting? Love to hear about it.

Have an awesome weekend, and come back next week to hear about more of my trip to Canada.

Tina

A #TinaTidings Trip into Canada #Travel #ASMSG

Looking forward to the weekend?

Me too, though I should be well rested after a wonderful week in Canada.

You see, my husband and I went to Banff, Canada for our honeymoon, many years ago. At the time we said we wanted to go back in the summer, seeing as we were there in the winter. We had a great time skiing.

However, this time around we want to see more of the country. .

We arrive in Vancouver close to midnight and road the sky link train to downtown and walked to our hotel. I was amazed at the number of people we saw out walking their dog at that time of night.

The next day, we walked down and caught the boat over to Granville Island. Where we walked through a number of interesting stores and ate lunch on the dock. A number of amazing boats where floating close by.

We also went up to the Vancouver Tower, where we could look out at all the land and water circling the island. On the way back to our hotel, we even took in the Monet exhibit at the Vancouver art museum.

Over all, we had an awesome time. Next week, I'll tell you about the next stop on our trip....

Rocky Mountain train ride coming up.

So have you been to Vancouver? What was the best thing you did or saw?

Have a great weekend,

Tina

Tina's Tidings - #Diet - A Solution or Just Craziness? #weightloss #LowCarb

Inspiration - You can't realize your dreams unless you have one to begin with. - Thomas A. Edison

I have a number of dreams so my problem stems from which one do I focus on the most at this moment.

Diet is my favorite at the moment. My husband and I have put on a few pounds and decided we needed to work a little harder to get off those extra pounds.

Now, one of the best diets for my husband to lose weight is the Low Carb Diet.

Here is the official information on Low Carb diets according to Google.

A low-carb diet is a diet that restricts carbohydrates, such as those found in sugary foods, pasta and bread. It is high in protein, fat and healthy vegetables. There are many different types of low-carb diets, and studies show that they can cause weight loss and improve health.

Now that sounds easy enough.

Reality is a different case because it changes how you cook almost every recipe that you have.

Salads have become the new go to meal with different kinds of meat.

Bread, pasta, and desserts are non-existent.

Strangely there are substitutions and I have tried a number which I will share.

Bread - you have to make your own. I found one that I like a little (let's just say it's better than most.)

https://lowcarbyum.com/basic-quick-bread/

For pasta - I tried

over all it's not bad. Just make sure to follow the directions.

Dessert - I do a bite size meringue.

I got the recipe from https://ketodietapp.com/Blog/post/2015/08/26/sugar-free-meringues

Then I changed it.  Where I use powered egg whites and different flavored sugar free jello - (mine are better if you wait a couple of days until you eat them, because then they are crunchy.)

Now, the big question have I lost any weight?

As every dieter will answer - not as much as I want.

So is dieting worth the effort?

Love to know your thoughts. Please leave a comment and let's get to know each other.

Tina
